  • Is this contract-to-hire or direct placement?

    X-Team supports both. Direct placement means X-Team sources and places an engineer as your full-time employee from the start. Contract-to-hire means an engineer starts on an X-Team engagement and converts to your permanent headcount once both sides confirm the fit. Which path fits depends on whether you want to evaluate an engineer in the role first or hire permanently up front.

  • What does conversion look like and what does it cost?

    In a contract-to-hire conversion, an engineer who has been working with your team moves onto your permanent headcount as your employee. Conversion terms, including any fee and the point at which conversion is available, are set in your engagement agreement. Because the engineer has already worked with your team, you are hiring someone whose fit is proven rather than making a decision from a resume.

  • Does X-Team offer a replacement guarantee?

    Permanent placements include a replacement guarantee period, during which X-Team will replace a placed engineer who does not work out. The specific terms are defined in your placement agreement. X-Team's vetting screens for long-term fit up front, so a replacement is the exception.

  • How is permanent placement different from X-Team's staff augmentation?

    With staff augmentation, the engineer works as part of your team but remains an X-Team engineer, which suits flexible or ongoing capacity. With permanent placement, the engineer becomes your full-time employee. Choose staff augmentation for flexibility and speed to capacity; choose permanent placement when you want the engineer on your own headcount for the long term.

  • Where are placed engineers located?

    X-Team's engineer community spans 50 countries, with a nearshore focus that places engineers primarily in Latin America and the US in real-time overlap with US business hours. Placement location depends on the role and your working-hours and location requirements.
