The X-Outposts are an integral part of our community. Organized a few times a year, they are opportunities for X-Teamers to meet in a beautiful location so they can get to know each other, work together, and create memorable adventures. In August 2024, close to fifty X-Teamers travel to Pipa in Brazil. This is how Agustina Parra, one of our wonderful Recruiting Managers, experienced it.
I once read, "You can't add days to your life, but you can add life to your days."
And that perfectly captures what our X-Outposts offer.
After three years with X-Team, I attended my very first X-Outpost in August 2024. It was the final X-Outpost of the year, with 49 X-Teamers attending. I had heard countless wonderful stories about these events, so I was eager to finally experience one for myself. The anticipation had been building for quite some time, and I was excited to discover what I had been missing out on.
Let's start with the place: Pipa is a charming coastal town located in the north-eastern state of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil. Renowned for its stunning beaches, warm hospitality, and laid-back atmosphere. It's such a magical place that even dolphins pay you a visit and swim near you!
Our Events Lead, Henrique, welcomed us and promised us a wonderful time with fantastic activities that would include a karaoke night, coworking spaces, and dinner reservations.
It's incredibly energizing coming together as a remote team in person. The kindness of a smile, the warmth of a hug, and the genuine laughter we shared bridged those digital barriers and left us feeling truly connected, part of something special.
As a Recruiter, there's no greater gift than meeting the developers you hired and hearing first-hand how X-Team has transformed their lives.
X-Teamers together are impossible to overlook. You'll recognize us as a large group speaking in different languages, having fun, and standing out for our kindness and empathy. Some chose to bring along their partners or families, who also become part of our community, whether by sporting our amazing collectibles or simply by embracing the opportunity to explore with us.
This X-Outpost also saw the unexpected visits of leadership executives Amit Sion and Brad Giblin, who had traveled 15,300 kilometers from Australia to meet us and enjoy some caipirinhas together.
To me, it demonstrated that the company values its people above all else. It highlighted the importance of seizing these in-person opportunities. Both made sure to spend quality time with each of us, and their genuine interest in our experiences and stories made every interaction meaningful.
Amit also brought twenty boxes of Tim Tams for us to enjoy. He really knows how to win us over.
The main event, which we call our Epic Adventure, happened on Saturday, when we rented buggies for all X-Outpost attendees. A buggy ride in Pipa is all about adventure and adrenaline. There's something about the rush of the wind in your hair and the roar of the engine that makes you feel truly alive.
For me, that ride was a testament to the essence of X-Team—the love for adventure, the courage to keep moving forward, and the commitment to experiencing life to the fullest.
The only downside of these X-Outposts is that they end. We have to bid farewell to our new friends as everyone returns to their respective countries. But the silver lining is that the memories we created together will always remind us of the incredible community we belong to.
The people are what make these X-Outposts special. That's what it all comes down to. The simple joy of heading to breakfast each morning, knowing that no matter where you choose to sit, you’ll be welcomed with a smile and open conversation.
It's these genuine and inclusive connections that make the X-Outposts more than just events—they’re what make them feel like you finally found a place where you belong.
